E Roon Kang lives and works in New York, where he operates an interdisciplinary design and research studio, Math Practice. He works in print, web, and environmental installations, with interest in studying, evaluating, and criticizing complex systems and its consequential pointlessness of a pursuit of efficiency.
E Roon's work has won NSF Science and Visualization Challenge, and shown in places including the MoMA, Platform 2009 of Seoul, Seattle Public Library, and the Architectural League of New York.
He gave talks and lectures at MIT, NYU, TED Conferences and Cannes Int'l Festival of Creativity, among others, and taught courses at Bauhaus-University Weimar and SUNY Purchase, and currently teaches at Rutgers University.
E Roon is a TED Fellow and was a research fellow at SENSEable City Laboratory of MIT. He is a recipient of the Young Guns award from Art Director's Club, and holds an MFA from Yale University.
He is also a co-organizer of a Brooklyn based curatorial group AGWF, which works to discuss topics both in and outside the field of art, in an effort to present a place for thought, action, and construction.
